I am thrilled to be continuing my 10 on 10 blog circle in 2014. I really love that this project inspires me to get out and shoot for myself and I also love seeing what my photography friends have been up to in their lives as well and how they capture it! Once you are finished checking out my 10 images, please follow around the circle.
I am cheating a bit this month because usually for this blog circle the images are from the past month, but since I have fallen behind in my personal editing towards the later half of 2013 I have been working through the backlog and I came across these images from our summer family beach vacation.
I normally do not do do stylized sessions, but my sweet little one was gifted this fairy outfit from her Aunt and I had this grand idea of a beach photo shoot. Well, as it goes, the best laid session plans.... Each night of our vacation came and went and of course at the beginning I thought to myself, we have plenty of evenings to get this done, but as the vacation was winding down I realized I was running out of time and the weather was showing not to be in my favor for the last night. And as many of you know, when packing for a week long vacation with children, space in your vehicle is limited and since I had taken that valuable space with this outfit I knew I had to fit it in otherwise I would be hearing it from my husband.
On the second to last night, we had dinner plans so I was feeling disappointed that it was not going to happen. But even I was surprised. All to the thanks of my ever so thoughtful father-in-law. He made it happen!! As soon as he finished his dinner, he said "Let's go". The beach was a few blocks away, so we jumped into my car and left everyone else behind. Headed to the beach, changed her in the back of my car into the outfit, and from the minute she put it on, she was untouchable.
I am sure you can imagine the sweet comments we got while I was shooting her on the beach. We had about 15 minutes of light left, but it was all worth it. When we were done, she didn't want to change out of it.
I am so glad it all worked out because I love these images of my sweet little one who is getting bigger by the moment.
Thanks to a fun editing play by my friend Erin of Erin Freeman Photography, this image quickly has become one of my favorites.
And while this is image #11, I just love it of the two of them together. The man that made it all happen and the sweet little model.
Please continue around on the circle, up next is the talented and super sweet Lindsay Kudritz from K and Co. Photography.
